funny story.

our weekend was meant to be a project weekend.
and it was.

we have been painting and sanding and cutting and stapling
and more painting.

i will reveal soon,

but while our living room was full of wet paint and screws,
we figured we had to get out.

so we followed the directions on our trusty iphones to get to balboa park.
a destination we have tried to get to twice and always seemed to find the side with nothing there, just a big park.

we ended up in zoo parking.
cc pulled into a spot so we could figure out our next move and then he said,
“this is an amazing spot!”

in the very front row of the huge zoo parking lot,
free, by the way.

if you live here,
it’s dumb to pay for regular tickets.

in fact, if you will go more than once in a year,
its still dumb.

so, since we no be dumb…
and because we were starving,
we bought ourselves some tax-deductable annual passes,
and went to the zoo!

we were there for less than 2 hours but it was just what we needed.
lots of walking, we both had our DSLRs and we were lovin it.

food there is pretty great and fairly cheap.
and with a pass, i can go with me and a guest and boss for free.
i can’t wait!

then we walked out of the park and next door to balboa park,

where we finally found the spanish village we were looking for.

if you are a photographer in san diego, you know all about this place.
i have a shoot here in a few weeks so we were on a research mission….

as were were walking out of the village, i heard some guy explaining to his visitors,
“this is the spanish village, lots of color, and a bit too artsy fartsy for me…”

artsy fartsy, is my middle name.

we even stopped to watch a private glass blowing lesson…
but there are artists all over painting or making something…

and about 30 seconds into the ride home….
