“mama? dance?”
why of course, whenever you say.
“mama? apple joose. peeze?”
sure.
{well, if you must say it like that…}
he sits patiently beside me in the morning while i work,
and he’ll watch a show of his choosing
and share a blanket with me,
most of the time, holding my hand.
hand him something and he says,
“oh thank you, mommy”
sometimes we have fruit snacks or bananas,
and when he’s done,
he’ll shimmy his diapered booty down from the couch,
walk to the trash and put his wrapper in.
then he’ll quietly say “thank you” to himself and respond “welcome!”
then of course come grab mine and say
“trash? oh ok mommy.”
after leaving me a gift in his pants,
he’ll say “burper…
{while pointing to his diaper}
….poo poo… wisies”
and usually go to find them for me.
of course, after he’s all clean,
he’ll thank me,
then walk his diaper to the trash…
he says “dash you” when you sneeze,
he gives hugs and kisses on demand,
{though, he’ll only give em on the mouth, don’t even try to dodge it}
and if a phone buzzes or rings, he’s the first to alert and retrieve for the owner.
“uh oh, phone!”
sure, he’s into his fair amount of nearly-two-year-old terrorism…
as found here
and these days, the only reaction i can have to finding half the room in the crib
with the fave boots on sans the pants is to, of course,
promptly take photos and post it in 5 places,
{then leave the mess so your dad can really see what we did today…}
especially if the first thing he says is “wook, mom! i did it!”
he loves cars,
dad,
trucks,
balls,
daddy,
tools,
emptying the dishwasher,
dancing,
climbing,
fixing,
counting,
building,
bouncing,
singing,
cc,
and praying.
yes, 2 is lots.
yes, it is tiring to grow a baby on the outside, as well as inside…
yes, he makes horrendous messes,
and spends time in time-out for hitting and screaming,
and overall two-ness…
and yes, there are many days i hold on to cc long and hard
when he finally gets home, cause the day was eternal
{truth be told, this morning is headed there…}
but then there’s days when i want to do nothing but play and enjoy this time,
and cuddle, and coddle, and do whatever he says…
cause it will never be like this again.
just me and my toddler,
in the best phase yet.
