Tunic Tops are so great for fall and what I’d call a staple for any woman’s wardrobe, but especially for mamas with ever-growing-and-shrinking bodies.army green military dress for toddler and matching olive tunic top

this is often what it looks like with my little one on pre-school days.

brother is gone, and the need to be loud and one-up each other with noise and “hey mom check this out” is diminished by 70%. and it helps that she turns into an overly sweet mamas girl when it’s just us, so she kisses on demand, and wants to paint nails and wear a dress. she slays me.

i know i will miss this phase of her childhood more than most. i already feel the loss as she slims out and grows too fast.

if i come to get her in the morning all dressed and ready to go myself, she’ll say, “oh mom, can we match?” and then i have to dig to find something. and the minute she has whatever that is on, she wants dad to know about it. it’s my favorite.

this little army dress i grabbed at carters for her cause i just got my top and knew we’d need SOMETHING to match.  it’s been so hot that we both wear skirts and dresses more than pants, but she loves this dress and wants to wear it all the time.

tunic tops though… when i first got this one {from the Nordstrom sale} i was tempted to take it back for fear it was too big. but that’s the beauty of a tunic. it IS big. and on flabbier tummy days, i embrace the large shirt and go with it. sometimes i tuck in the front to see i have a waist, and it is super cute tucked into a pencil skirt too. win!

but it’s one of those looks great on lots of body types kind of things that i am obviously such a fan of!

oh dear reese, lets be friends forever and skip over that awful phase where it’s inevitable that you hate me and think i’m a huge nerd who embarrasses you in front of your cool friends. i just want to stay in the phase where i’m your favorite and you are mine. and i’m a little nervous that you’ll eventually grow out of those curls and round cheeks and i’m just not emotionally prepared for that day.

oh, and i know i’m only wearing the ring from my set, but have you heard of Rocksbox?  yep, it’s a monthly subscription thing, and they’ll send you 3 pieces to try out for as long as you want, when you tire of them, or decide which you want to buy, you send the box back and get more! i’m more into simple and classic jewelry for the most part, so i wear them for a month or so then get new ones. i haven’t purchased any yet, but my current box might be hard not to!

if you want to try them out, use colormemegxoxo for a free month!
