i haven’t done one of these in a while.
i hate the moments that i realize how fast this is going.
today B is 16 months.

he did something new yesterday. not that it’s new to doing new things…

but new to me.

out of the clear blue, he came over to me and planted a kiss on my lips saying “mmmmm!”
of course i often kiss my child and love on him every chance i get,
but it was the first time he had ever come back to say,
mom, i love you too!

he is in a scary and wonderful phase that requires lots of patience.
patience to let him fall a bit or get hurt if needed so he can learn.
patience at the melt-downs so i don’t get flustered and make it worse…
he climbs on things, opens everything, and must attempt to connect any two objects…
it’s the way it works that he must discover.
he gets that from his dad…

getting in the final four teeth, the white fangs as we call them…
and they are proving painful and annoying…
he prefers eating with utensils, {which cracks me up}
and he likes sippy cups with a straw. aaaannd, my kid who once could eat anything suddenly cringes at green things unless in smoothie form.

up until this week, he has still been taking two 2-hr naps a day, but now that we are at the beach or the pool every other morning…. slash i guess he’s just growing up….
he is working his way into the one big kid nap.
i’m currently in denial phase 2.

at his last doctor visit,
his dr. gave me a sheet of info about what my kid “should be doing at 18 months”
which always just cracks me up…

one of the things is “has 10-20 words.”
but then it says, “many children do not been this milestone at 18 months.”
why is is on the list then?
why make moms feel bad? not that i personally care when my kid accrues 20 words into his arsenal of toddler vocabulary, seeing that he uses maybe 5 or 6 words now…

…but he knows how to give kisses and blow them,
so i would say he ahead of the game.
