j.jill fashion style mom 3
I am in this last 2-3 pound window of pre-pregnant weight to lose and I’m so not motivated to finish. Part of it is because it’s so much more work at the end,
and part of it is because I’m not really unhappy with myself where I’m at now.
I am back into clothes, and re-evaluating my style since I’ve been out of style for over a year…
babies do that to you…

I’m learning where I fall on the spectrum of style vs comfort…
so when the opportunity came up for some shopping at j.jill, I figured, why not?
Confession: I’ve never walked into this store before.
And from the window, sort of thought it would not be my style at all.
I even looked through the website and, while I loved all the looks,
they just weren’t me.
So I went down there, 2 kids in tow,
and the cute ladies in the UTC mall got me in a huge dressing room,
with books and toys for the toddler, while Reese screamed….
I wanted to try out the white linen pants for sure. I wanted a pair for the  beach.
And it’s a great staple item, a wardrobe enhancer, if you will…
I grabbed a few pieces that can go with lots and be styled differently…
Linen is nice because it’s light and breathable, and considered a “summer fabric,”
so I just imagined it on a windy day at the beach and loved it!
{wish we would have had time to get a shot of me wearing them at the beach,
but you get the picture…}
Normally, I would be a little weary of linen cause it wrinkles,
but J.Jill’s linen has a finish that is meant to lessen the wrinkling.
And linen lasts so it’s durable, which is a must.
These cropped pants are sturdy, but look airy.
I love that.
And they are absorbent, yet have natural wicking, so on humid days…
{or at the beach…}
I’m a little short, so even the petite run long on me,
but with some pops of color and my teal boat shoes,
I felt like I was in comfy vacation clothes.

I love the way the shirts fit there too- they are a bit boxy, definitely looser fit, which was perfect for this less-than-skinny day I tried them on,
and paired with a pair of tight jeans or leggings, a long tunic-style shirt is ALWAYS my style!

See, you can’t even see my few inches of belly that are under that slimming top…
and I love the length.
Lots of their signature tops are similar…
