this was our weekend project a few weeks ago and we had lots of fun finally getting the stack of frames off my cabinet…
my wall has been naked for a while because i couldn’t decide what i wanted,
and then i saw a colorful decal online somewhere and thought,
“why couldn’t i just paint a cool design on the wall, and build my gallery around it?”
i don’t see why not either.
i also used a crate i had from an old melissa & doug toy and mounted a photo to add some depth,
and it matches perfectly cause of the golds in the photo.
it makes me giddy every time i look at it!
this fall leaf canvas i made last fall on a rainy day with leaves from our porch,
and the birdy print is the first one i got. it’s from IKEA and i loved it.
it has lots of the colors in my house, so i thought it’d be a great main piece.
it’s so bright and friendly on my wall now!
and the photos in there will be easy to swap out when i need to.
the ampersand and the LOVE print i designed real quick and had printed at persnickety.
{they’re the best for prints. and super fast!}
this is NOT a sponsored post,
but for heavens sake it should be.
we used the new ORANGE frog tape for textured walls
and it’s amazeballs!
put on your tape,
seal the edges with a damp cloth
{that direction is buried in there, but be sure to do it!}
apply the thin layer of sealing glue that comes with it,
let it dry completely, then paint.
we found that you want to remove that tape, before it is completely dry,
otherwise, it may start to peel edges.
if you do it right,
{and it’s hard to mess up with this stuff}
the lines come out like this:
awesome right?!
orange frog tape. get it!
Does the tape come with the glue sealant stuff? I’ve never used orange frog tape, but I love this design, and might need to!
I just used the green frogger tape on the walls in Adelaide’s new play room and I used the exact same adjective you did; AMAZEBALLS! Seriously. Straightest line I’ve ever seen. I didn’t do the wetting or glue (didn’t come with it, so I’m assuming there are different types of frogger tape), but it worked insanely well! Here’s the post if you’re interested. http://jhawkgal.blogspot.com/2014/05/playroom-reveal.html
Love your gallery wall. Way too much cute!!
Yes! It comes in a pack with the sealant stuff. I bet you could use the glue on other frog-tape {like the green} and that would help a lot too!
Oh I’m glad! The last few times we used the green kind, we had quite a bit of bleeding, but sometimes it works great too. This orange stuff is specifically for “textured walls” so I think that’s why the glue…etc.
Totally missed that part in the post about the textured walls. Ours are super…er…not textured. You’re right, that’s probably why it worked so well!!
I kind of love non-textured walls. yours turned out so cute!
your wall {and those lines} are gorgeous
