we have been loving summer so far in san diego.

and yes, we have been to the beach a lot.
the thing is, when family is in town, they want to be at the beach.
every week, we have a ward beach day,
and on saturdays when cc isn’t working and he wants to do something to relax…

you get the point….

{that one time b fell asleep on the beach and let me hold him. rare, very rare.}

so when i saw this comment on a post of mine during our reunion beach day
at newport beach, i had to laugh…

it’s true.  i remember visiting these guys as kids from hot arizona…

we were envious of their sandy cars, their garage full of cheap plastic toys and boogie boards, and their effortless tans {the part my kid inherited, not me.}
we use to talk about what it would be like to just pick up and go to the beach… and go for just a few hours instead of camp there all day if you didn’t need to…

we use to think of how different life must be for those summer beach bums while we took turns hosing the trampoline, running through sprinklers, and sitting in laundry buckets filled with hose water…. and dying of death every day with nothing to do…

and now that we live close, we go a lot, and we truly do enjoy it.
the only thing that can improve a day at the beach, is family.

this was the “human slingshot” my aunt made.
go ahead and imagine all of the out-of-shape 50+ men falling over laughing after ramming into each other in one of these… hilarious entertainment.

so i apologize for rubbing it in,
but as an arizona native, i can say i really am taking it in,
and loving where we live.

ask me the question you are thinking, go ahead…

would i ever move back now that i have lived here?

 do you want the one word answer, or the two?
