twix are my favorite candy bar {if i ever eat candy bars…}.
and oatmeal chocolate chip are my favorite cookies.
and i die for anything salted caramel. so basically, these could be my new favorite ooey gooey naughty treat.
i have been looking at a recipe for carmelitas for months and just wondering what’s the big deal??
i’ve obviously never made or tried one… so there’s that.
and yesterday, when my 3 year old and i were already off to a bad start to our day,
i noticed that my husband left this on the counter…
who DOES that?!
and since i don’t eat copious amounts of sugar every day,
and to be honest, wasn’t really tempted by the lone TWIX sitting on my counter,
it had to be dealt with, and fast.
i got started making these, and then realized i needed to run to the store for more candy,
cause no, i don’t have that many TWIX bars lying around my house!
{and for the record, it’s my sweet family that sends us packages with goodies for the holidays… we have quite the collection of uneaten chocolate and candy at our house!}
so i asked boss if he wanted to make a treat with me,
and he jumped right up and grabbed his “wadder”
so he could help me stir and measure and pour.
it makes my little mom heart happy to know that he is learning the ins and outs of the kitchen so young.
he later explained to g-ma over ichat what we put in the treat…
“flowers, brown sugar, candies, cereal…”
it’s part of the reason i ever make sweet treats at all,
cause heaven knows these are going to get taken to friends immediately so i don’t eat them all.
i wasn’t really tempted by the lone TWIX, but as i said, these are like the perfect oatmeal cookie stuffed with caramel, twix bars, and sea salt!!
i’m defenseless.
