i haven’t really sewn much without mother’s supervision in years.
it was time.
this is a banana republic sweater i found for $3 at goodwill. it is just soft and cozy, so i didn’t bother messing with the sleeves. i kind of like that it’s casual and comfy. but since it’s cute, i don’t feel bad wearing it out and about.
best of both worlds.
it wasn’t even all that tough!
apparently all it takes is:
1 – this tutorial on how to turn a sweater into a cardigan. its pretty darn easy. and pretty much involves 1 cut and bias tape.
2 – 2 other sweaters “for parts” {as cc says} to make the ruffles.
{we’ll see if one turns into something else in its next life…}
3 – hand-sewn rosette using the ribbing from that red sweater i cut to pieces.
{don’t look too close. i didn’t say it was perfect.}
What a cute idea! I have a sweater like that that I think I'll have to refashion now . . .
