i have a mom who quilts.
i have quilted a little here and there,
but this woman is the queen.
she makes on average maybe 3-5 quilts a month,
goes to quilt group with her quilting friends,
mails these guys off to be quilted,
and gives the expensive, gorgeous, labor-evident quilts away as gifts.
only the cherished few receive them,
so i will say i cherish this more than most things.
in a fire, the quilts {and computers} will be on the top of my list to grab.
you may notice this cute chevron quilt from reese’s blessing day photos.
i wanted to have some photos of her with the quilt because it is beautiful and her colors and everything…
i know the teal and coral and gray might be a trendy mash-up, but i couldn’t help it.
and when mom and i went to find all the pieces for the quilt,
the more it started to look like little reese to me.
and now that she’s here and i have a sense for her little personality,
i can say it matches her perfectly.
it’s soft, gentle, beautiful, detailed, a bit trendy, and oh so happy.
that little girl is rarely seen without a smile, and she’s calm and content.
they match completely.
and i guess it’s fitting that i post this today,
because reese finally slept in this crib today!
next to her brother in the same room.
i was up half the night just to listen, but they both did great!
{lets hope that happens forever…}
thanks, mom, for the amazing quilt that will make me smile every time i look at it.
and i’m sure reese will love it for years too!
{if i ever let her touch it…;}
I love her space. So sweet and fresh. And I'm with you on grabbing the computer/quilts in a fire. (Unfortunately I had a little time to reflect on that lately with a scare…Not sure I'd be able to grab all of mine though.)
What a treasure to have this from your mom. It's gorgeous.
Gotta love your mom! its gorgeous!!
That is a pretty quilt! Several decades from now Reese will still have this piece of her family's heritage to treasure and pass on to her children.
Nikki
www.rushedmommy.com
