having realized my own mistake, {failing to realize my new favorite holiday},
i decided to take a stand.
after i bore my testimony of my need to dress up to cc,
he let me splurge on some wings and leg warmers, but otherwise these costumes were pretty cheap.
nonetheless, i was giddy about it all week…
saturday was the trunk-or-treat and i was going to be ready this time.
we spent the morning picking up the rest of the goods
{make-up, eyelashes, candy…ya know, the important stuff…}
of course as i was getting ready, {insert really pathetic sad face here}
i realized i somehow lost my eyelashes! in true wife form,
i put on a real sad one and cc headed back out to save the day.
he then came home and took watch of the little B while feeding him and carving 5 punkins so i could take hours to get ready…
turns out he really gets into that part…{the pumpkin carving, not the waiting for me part}
when we got to said event, cc jumped in and got really into the decorating the truck too… he wanted to be sure it looked good and creepy. {ps, thanks Kristyn for the luminaries idea – i had totally forgotten about those!!}
then he followed around as we B’s fraternized and giggled with all the other costume clad folks and took pictures and took all of the criticism and snarkiness i so lovingly threw his way everytime someone asked him “what he was supposed to be…”
then, while i sat, he single-handedly loaded up and got everyone home,
including a sleeping B.
as we parked and saw sweet little man sleeping i realized cc was in costume all along.
he was clark kent.
and that might just be what we call him every year.
superman. the man who came home after all of the wife-judgement and running around and honey-do crap i threw at him all the day long and you know what that sweet, non-judgemental, cutest, humbling son-of-a-gun husband did?
he cleaned the tornado i left in the bedroom {it was bad}.
and made the bed….
{then got up in the morning and did all the dishes and cleaned the kitchen…}
i know i don’t deserve it,
and i know i shouldn’t reveal his true identity to the world…
so don’t tell,
but i sure love being married to a guy who can fly.
Adorable. One of the things I love the most about being married is falling in love with your honey for reasons you never could have dreamed of when you were deciding whether or not he was the one. May you always find reasons to fall in love 🙂
You two look too cute for words! Love it!!! 🙂
I love the costumes! Super cute and he was a stud…for sure! Especially when he is passed out in his seat after a night of partying. Adorable. good job on his costume. Very smart. I prefer homemade costumes to store bought ones.
