so heeer’s the deal:
i mentioned that there are only a few things that make me feel beautiful lately.
{on account of my separation anxiety from long hair}
{on account of my separation anxiety from long hair}
and being that it is swimsuit season here for longer than anywhere i have lived,
and the swimsuits here are all size 2,
i was in need of a pick me up.
i went and got myself a bit of a manicure and pedicure while i wait ever so patiently for my hair to do something kind to me {grow}.
i even purchased some prenatal vitamins just to help the process along…
and after a much-needed haircut and color, i was feeling quite a bit better.
it’s amazing the maintenance we truly do need to function well…
but in the meantime, dove sent me this new dove® visiblecare™
renewing crème body wash in the mail for me to try.
it is supposed to produce “visibly” improved skin in a week.
i was excited because i am one of those with horribly dry skin
and very thick dark hair.
translation: my white legs never really look shaved, and when they do,
my skin always looks parched and visibly dry.
ew. definitely not conducive to a life in san diego.
especially not in the summer!
so i have been using it for a few weeks. i have to admit,
it did make a difference.
in just a few days even.
i have always been one for the sugary/bath salt feeling scrubs and body washes because the exfoliating helps to make me feel like it is doing more,
but this stuff was great. it is so soft and lathers real well, and even cc likes it!
{he thinks he is allergic to soaps and body wash so he keeps trying to find a magical one that doesn’t make him sneeze.}
he’s been using this one too cause he likes it so much.
and it has a mild fruity/foral scent so he can get away with it.
after a few days of using it, i shaved
{granted, i used a new razor and everything}
and then i headed to the beach. as per usual.
{no, i don’t shave daily. sue me.}
i should have snapped a picture of my shiny, obviously not dry legs…
that i rarely let go so freely,
but since i was feeling so confident, naturally,
i burned them.
c’est la vie.
ps, slightly un-related:
i listen to pandora, and happened upon a “dove” station.
made by listeners for women.
it was all songs that make us feel beautiful.
i highly recommend it.

For me it's rare that I get time in for manis or pedis, but I feel great after a nice cut and color to cover my pesky greys!
