dear santa maria, we’re leaving.
and we probably wont see you again.
at least for a long long time.
{when B is old enough to know/care to see
the beautiful corner of california in which his life commenced}
its not you, its me.
…it might be you.
saturday night, we had some friends throw a party to say goodbye.
this is one of my favorite groups of people to play with.
its fun to have girlfriends who have husbands just like mine. {i.e. work together}
because everyone has fun when we get together.
the men all gather and chat all night,
and the women just twiddle their thumbs with nothing to do. {caught ya.}
the big screen goes on to entertain the crazy children.
mine sleeps in a room somewhere.
its beautiful.
we never tire of talking with these friends,
we take way too long to leave,
and we are going to miss them all.
{until they all end up in san diego with us in a few months!}
we were a wee bit late, because after a day of packing and cc working,
we both sat down to prepare for sunday talks and lessons.
we arrived at the door
and i already knew it was going to be good times.
well said, guys.
don’t get all stressful on us,
we know all about it.
these girls went all out.
we were featured on their delicious cupcakes,
they talked about us all night…
they even called our moms to get a bunch of stories about us
and played a game with questions about us,
many of which would have made cc blush were it any other group.
what a thoughtful, meaningful, well-planned party.
i wish i had taken more pictures of the humans.
its touching sometimes to be reminded how great your friends are.
thanks guys,
we’ll see you in a few months.
ps. in a few minutes i will not have internet or cable,
which means all of my monday shows wont record and i won’t blog again until safely in my new home in san diego!
i would be lying if i said i didn’t feel a bit naked without the internet.
we’ll be back soon…
you just left santa maria?? my parents in law are from there and my husband grew up there. what school did you go to? but moving from santa maria to san diego not a bad move at all! i love both cities!
