Just 3 weeks ago, my baby sister got married. {More on how weird that still is to me and how I’m still in denial on that later…} but it meant that I had quite a few beauty issues to resolve in a short amount of time to look decent in photos. Does that sound a bit high maintenance? Cause I felt that way just writing it! But I’m also a low maintenance, low up-keep fan, so I LOVE beauty hacks that make it EASIER to keep up, not harder.

So, let’s talk a bit more about hair color. I have talked before about why and how I color my hair at home, and I’m a big fan. However, I still sometimes color at a salon, depending on what I’m going for, and you might be a salon life-er, and that’s great too! So here’s my next hot tip to help make your life easier: Root touch up!
My new favorite product, whether I’m coloring at home or in the salon, is the Clairol Root Touch-Up by Nice ‘n Easy. It takes about 10 minutes, so it’s super fast, and it extends my color {no matter where I had it done!} for another 3 weeks! So especially if you are one to see grays or root growth a few weeks after you color, this is a great way to keep it up without having to go back to the salon, or beg your husband to spend his Friday night with color on his hands. {What? I never do that!}
I’m such a fan! I tried it before the wedding because I had colored my hair about 8 weeks before. {Here’s the video of me coloring my hair at home.} Because my hair is dark, the roots were not that bad. The color held up pretty well, actually, but I wanted it to look fresh and not quite as “ashy” at my roots so I didn’t show up gray in pictures. So, because Clairol Nice ’n Easy has 21 shades of color in the Root Touch-Up, I could get one that matched perfectly to the color I had already, and use the Precision Brush to paint it on easily and get a fresh upgrade. PS: The brush is awesome. I wanted to save it for when I do color in the future!
I love this trick! I’ll be doing it a lot for sure. I used to keep up an ombre-style color, and felt like I needed to be in the salon more often than not to color the top, while the ends were lighter, but this is the perfect solution to lengthening the time between colors because I can apply the color exactly where I want it at the top!
I have one last video for you, and I hope you like it. Full disclosure: I hadn’t tried Clairol Root Touch-Up by Nice ‘n Easy before, but I am going to be doing this between every color from now on! My siblings all asked at the wedding if I just got my hair done again because it was so shiny and fresh, and I didn’t have to schedule an appointment, or even spend more than 10 minutes! Seriously, try this and let me know what you think!
Here’s another “after” photo from my sister’s wedding with the hair nice and dark…
