It’s like a bike ride now. Wind in my hair, sun on my face… it’s a different life we are in, and it feels so good.

Since we have been here in Arizona, we have found that we have lots more time to spend with our little family and cousins and grandmas. For now, Chris gets to work from home and we have been able to do lots of projects together and spend more time outside. It’s still so new, that every time we get to have an outing, one or both of us stop to say, “Look at us, hanging out in broad daylight!”. Before we left, we were both told by our doctor that we were pretty low on Vitamin D, and it wasn’t all that surprising. The irony, right? Sunny San Diego and all…

We had been scouting out for a bike for Chris cause I had this cute beach cruiser and it has been sitting in storage for 5 years because we lived in apartments and never had a place to store it.

When his new adorable Columbia Bicycle came in the mail, the kids flipped out! We got a little trailer for the back of dad’s to carry Reese and she loves it, and Boss loves that we all take a bike ride with him now. We have such a fun neighborhood, so we have gone out together a handful of times even just to get out of the house. We ride to parks, or to the little lake to just hang out, or take snacks and have a picnic. It is the BEST therapy for me. We get to spend time together, we get some fresh air, vitamin D, and the kids get quality time outdoors; Something, I hate to admit, that was not easy to do before. It’s such a beautiful change from where we were! And, since we are counting calories and steps, it’s a far more fun way to get my steps in!

PS, isn’t his bike so cute?? I thought I liked my bike, but now I’m completely crushing on his! Chris’s is called the 26″ 1952 Deluxe Crusier, and is made generally for recreational riding. It’s so hipster and completely fits him. His truck is the same color, if that says something. It’s made to match the authentic design of a 1952 Columbia Bicycle, made with a steel frame, has the most adorable red and white steel fenders, a coaster brake, and even has an LED headlight. It’s so well made too- no plastic, everything is steel, so it feels like a revived piece of real history, and I love it. If you are looking for this one, you can check it out at Dicks Sporting Goods.

It’s crazy to think that Columbia has been around since 1877 and making bikes like this from the beginning, but they are writing a new chapter. This new retro line they’ve released for the relaunch just kills me, I love all of them! In my opinion, I feel like it’s nice to finally see the most beautiful bikes finally available again! I love the vintage style.

My little family is so important to me, and it’s so nice to have more time with them, and more ways to play and get outside. We were sad to leave the beach and the perfect weather, but taking a bike ride once in a while to stop and cuddle up with the cuties I love is making up for it. Every time we get out and I feel the wind in my hair, and see my smiling family coasting happily behind me, I feel like we are just at the beginning of a new adventure.
