my baby is now over 4 pounds,
which is about the weight of this huge pineapple!
turns out he is about the same length too!
this last week i went for a midwife visit and she congratulated me on only gaining 6 pounds over the holidays

i guess a lot of women were showing huge gains…
so that made me feel a little better about life…
just before she checked B’s heartbeat she stopped and said,
“we’ll just wait for this little contraction you are having…”
“whaa?!”
apparently all those times that it feels like B is trying to jump straight outward,
all those times i was certain he was just lodged sideways… those are contractions. oh ok.

what do i know! i have been having those a lot and feeling pretty crampy too,
which is good cause that’s usually how my mom says she felt in the few weeks before she delivered…
lets hope that means he’s coming early…
this week, i also had my mom around.
we had some much-needed and vital nesting time,
that i didn’t realize i needed as much as i did.

she came to “power down” from the holidays, and i needed a good “power up”

yes, that is my changing table in the closet. i am pretty excited about how much space it saves and how nice it will be to keep all of B’s “stuff” behind doors.
we went ahead and put the crib in the other room and i found a cute bassinet on craigslist for about $25 that i am excited about. i figured, if i use it for only a little while, then i can just resell it and i wouldn’t need to store it.
peg is almost done with the cutest quilt i have seen, and she is going to make a new cover for the changing table that matches. of course she is.
peg laughed at me this week cause i got stuck at a used bookstore
and picked up like 5 new “mom” books.
i know, i am retarded, but i can’t help it.
i am almost done with two of them…
but after last week’s childbirth class and all the set-up,
i really do feel ready now.
i am over being pregnant, and ready for my buddy to come play.
yes, there are still a few things i need, but i feel ready.
if this were to go down tomorrow, i wouldn’t shudder at all…
cept that whole car-seat thing… right…
