if you are a parent you remember the moment well.

the two of you are cuddled up on the floor watching the child-you-formerly-introduced as “the baby” do something very un-baby-like and something that actually makes you say things like “it’s too fast” or “not ready for this”

yesterday, my little giant growing-up-faster-than-he-had-permission-to son woke up and decided to walk.

i mean, he has been a few steps here and there for a few weeks, but yesterday it was like he was fed up.  he just up and walked everywhere he went.  he knows the old method is faster so its nice to see him just get up and go. like he’s up for the challenge.

i have to admit, it looks a little crazy to see the little guy just walk in the room.
and yes, as parents, we go crazy for it every. time.

on a slightly unrelated note:
moms are welcome to stay with me whenever possible.
seeing as most of us round here only caught a few hours of sleep,
the babysitting and breakfast is a welcome treat.
