The cabin is a magical place. It makes us homesick for family and reconnecting. Everyone needs a “cabin” place.
Few words needed really. These are the images of kids with space and fresh air. Something you would think we’d have in abundance in San Diego, but we don’t.
We spent the weekend with family and unable to check anything online or social media at all. It was such a huge relief and when we arrived, we both audibly exhaled and felt at peace. Life has been so busy for us, and these 2 little people are draining, along with the pressure to keep up with everything else we have to do…. It’s almost an addiction to be so trapped in the social media cycle that we are all in. It’s so nice to drive so far out of town that we couldn’t, even if we wanted to, pay any attention to notifications and emails and distractions.
We played and went apple picking, and chatted with our siblings, and had such a great time. No faces stuck in screens, no YouTube sharing parties that last all night {though I love me a good video-sharing party}, and we spent an entire day out on the porch as a big family, as rain poured down off the roof and blew cool air on us.
It was just what the doctor ordered, and quite possibly needs to be prescribed soon again.
More pictures with family and my MIL’s amazing and adorable rustic cabin soon. I’ve wanted to take photos of it for years, but she keeps changing it and it’s so so cute!
Looks like a fun time was had by all. I really enjoy the few times a year that I am without an internet access and “forced” to enjoy the people around me. Those times always leave me with a full heart.
Aww! Apple picking is one of my favorite things in autumn. Obviously everyone had a great time!
I was off grid for a second week this year. Not being connected is good for the heart and soul. Good for you for getting away for a bit.
Love the photographs! And apple picking with kids is always so much fun, looks like they had a wonderful time!
What wonderful memories your building for your children 🙂 Love fun family vacations!
What sweet pictures you captured, and plenty of fond memories created I’m sure! How wonderful it is for children to be unplugged, spending time in nature.
Your family is absolutely gorgeous! These are going to be such fond memories for you to look back on in the future. I hope you put some of these on your wall!
