this weekend my dear friend carli let us shower her
to celebrate her TWIN boys coming soon!!
her adorable 3 year old is one of boss’s favorite girlfriends,
but now that she’s having boys, we all agreed she needed some boy stuff,
and lots of it!
my girlfriend Sandee and i were so excited about the idea of doing a
beach surfer dude theme,
beach surfer dude theme,
since these boys will be born in california but might not live here forever…
it made everyone pretty giddy, in fact…

and it helps that the new “oh joy” collection at target is the perfect colors
in shades of teal and orange, just like we wanted.
we snagged these teal trays and cake stand there for pretty cheap and they looked so cute!!
my girlfriend made those freakin cute surf boards and painted them.
hopefully carli can use them in the boys’ room somehow, cause they make me giggle with joy!
and i’m pretty happy with how these “sand bars” turned out.
especially after we stood up some surf boards in em,
this coffee cake looked perfect.
they were super tasty too.

we also served carrot sticks with dressing, fruit salad, and it wouldn’t be
a boy shower without some lil weenies…
and we have another girlfriend who does flowers and whipped up these beauties…
those little corked jars are from the $1 bins in target now too… {painted orange of course}
and here’s the recipe for the greek yogurt chicken salad as well.
the perfect shower food, in my humble opinion…
and the caprese skewers went over well too. i could eat those all. day. long.
just mozzarella balls, grape tomatos, a hint of basil, balsamic drizzle… so good.
the drink is just juice mixed with fresca. but everyone loved it…
