5 minute salted caramel apple dip

so this one, one of my best friends gave us as a neighbor gift for christmas…
it lasted a really long time, but when it was gone,
i was borderline depressed about it.
i mentioned it nearly every night.
i obsessed over it.
i bugged my friend for the recipe until she caved.
i ate so many apples when this stuff was around.
and i’m not saying it’s healthy, but oh does it feel good going down.
going to be a weekly treat now that i know how to make it!
and it’s super easy!

5 minute salted caramel apple dip

Ingredients

  • 4-6 Tbs unsalted butter
  • 3/4 c brown sugar
  • 1 package of softened cream cheese. {8 oz}
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp salt

what to do

melt the butter and sugar in the microwave together for 2 min covered, stirring half-way.

mix in cream cheese until its all melted and combined, may even need an electric mixer to be sure it’s completely smooth. add vanilla and salt (or omit the salt if you use salted butter).

done and done. best with green apples, but any will do.

Can this be made in advance and kept in the fridge (or would it somehow separate)?

Yes! I first received this as a gift from a neighbor for Christmas and it had directions for reheating in the mircrowave. It kept for about 2 weeks!

What would the reheating instructions be? Is it best served warm or does room temperature (after being reheated) or cold work?

It becomes pretty solid once cold, but room temp or warm is the best.
